Training Camp Day 2 Review

Today was a much better day folks. The team looked sharper and the practice was more productive. A few notes:

Our WR are pretty damn good.
Brian Price is REALLY fast.
Donald Penn is worth every penny.
Josh Freeman is an animal.

I did not mention in the video that Freeman was telegraphing his passes today. This was a problem for him his first year when, on the snap, you could halve the field by watching his facemask. He was doing it consistently today until very late. I hope it is simply rust as that is a hard habit to break.

Will do. He is beastly looking. Built like a small linebacker. Will be focusing on Safety play tomorrow as well as CB.

I couldn’t disagree more about Hardy, he didn’t impress me at all today. #86 Webber looks like the real deal from what I saw today. I will be looking at him more closely throughout the rest of camp. I agree WR is going to be a tough position to make on this team, Stroughter might even be on the outside looking in. Ahmad Black looks hesitant to me. I don’t know if it’s because he isn’t understanding his responsibilities, or he doesn’t want to be caught out of position. I know one thing the instincts that show up on his college film aren’t translating to camp. I think he just needs to let go and play. Other than that from what I saw your spot on.

Thanks for the comments. I will make sure to continue watching Hardy. I would not sweat Black’s hesitation. Early yet.

Wiz u made a comment after maybe 2 practices that Black looks hesitant. Brilliant!!! Do you honestly believe that his instincts aren’t translating after watching him 2 days in several offensively favored drills? Some of you arm-chair QB’s think way too highly of your football knowledge.
