Breaking News: Number 1 pick out of Kansas State, Josh Freeman has been named the starting QB. Anyone surprised by this should immediately pull their head out of their colon. The view there, while better than the outlook for the rest of our season, must smell like most places in New Jersey.
As for our show schedule and contrary to what I said on Monday night’s show, we will NOT be live Thursday night, 10/29. The WTB? staff will be enjoying early Halloween and a much deserved break from depression and drinking during the week. The BYE week schedule will be as follows:
- Thursday – 10/29 – No show. The Doc and OldSchool will be scaring innocent children, eating candy and probably not going into work on Friday. Yes, we know that it is not Halloween. We do however know that candy is already in the pantry.
- Monday – 11/2 – No show. As this is a BYE week, spending time talking about other games, especially given our team’s irrelevance in the playoff picture seems a waste. We are going to focus on getting some written work onto the website and focus on a blockbuster Thursday show.
- Thursday – 11/5 – Midseason review. We will have at least one special guest (maybe more) and review the year so far. Special attention will be spent on the individual positions and coaches. We will look at what we thought was going to happen and compare and contrast that to the grim reality. We will also preview the coming matchup with former NFC Central foe, the Green Bay Packers. There will be a throwback feel to the entire broadcast and some significant time will be spent discussing the tailgate for throwback weekend. Expect facial hair and retro gear.
We know that the season sucks. We know that you guys all feel there is no hope. We also know that we have been here before. This too, in time, shall pass. Hell, even the Bengals are winning now! We will have a survey on midseason grades going out soon so make sure you participate.
