5 Bold Predictions. Week 3 Edition: LA Rams

Here we go, the weekend is almost here and that means the Bucs will play a football game on Sunday. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open up RayJay and the new video boards when Tampa Bay finally comes home to play the visiting LA Rams. Last week Tampa went out and had a terrible showing against the Arizona Cardinals that resulted in a 40-7 loss. Looking at the enemy’s side, the Rams opened the year on Monday Night Football with a horrible performance that resulted in a 28-0 loss to the San Fransisco 49ers. Last week however, the Rams return to LA resulted in a 9-3 win over the Seattle Seahawks. So enough talking about the past…

Let’s get bold.

1. Jameis Winston will rebound: QB Jameis Winston came out last week and disappointed a whole lot of fans with his 5 turnover performance in the ugly loss. The Rams have a good front 4 but I feel their secondary is lacking. Expect Jameis to deliver this week.
2. Mike Evans keeps his streak alive: WR Mike Evans has a TD streak going.  He caught 1 in Atlanta and caught another in Arizona. Evans was going up against 2 pro bowl corners those 2 games and still was able to get yards and find the endzone. The Rams corners are not pro bowlers. I believe Big Mike will feast like its thanksgiving dinner.
3. The Bucs defense ends the drought: The Buccaneers knew defense was a problem that needed to be fixed. They went out and signed corner Brent Grimes, defensive lineman Robert Ayers and tackling machine Daryl Smith in free agency. In the draft they did more to help out by drafting hometown corner Vernon Hargreaves and Speed rusher Noah Spence. This unit was supposed to force turnovers. That has not happened. The Bucs are currently losing the turnover ratio 6-0. That’s not how you win football games. Luckily for the Buccaneers Case Keenum and the horrible Rams offense come to town. This week, the turnovers will come.
4. The Buccaneers will hold another RB under 100 yards: This has been a prediction of mine ever since week 1 and it has been correct every time. In week 1 the Buccaneers held Devonta Freeman to 20 yards rushing and last week only gave up 45 to David Johnson. I believe that will happen again this time. The Rams offensive line isn’t impressive to me. Todd Gurley won’t have much room to run. Looks like Case Keenum will have to beat the Bucs. Good luck with that.
5. The Bucs walk out over .500: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have all the pieces on offense to overcome the Rams defense. Even without Doug Martin, Jameis Winston and the receivers will step up. As for the defense, the Rams offense is just plain bad. Yes, the Buccaneers defense isn’t perfect but they are good enough to get the job done. It will read “Bucs win!” on those new video boards.

There you have it, I believe the Bucs will rebound in a big way this week. I also believe this is a “must win” game for Tampa this week… Denver is a tough challenge next week and then the next week to travel to Carolina will be even tougher. But, let’s focus on getting a W this week and forget about last week. GO BUCS!
