If you haven’t tuned in lately (and shame on you if you haven’t) then you may have missed the news that WTB? will be live and on location in Largo this Sunday from O’Houstons with a Pregame, Halftime and Postgame wrap-up show. Eddie and the crew (and of course, Marty aka FX13) have been kind enough to invite us back to their location to watch our beloved Buccaneers try to make it two in a row!
The fun will begin at 12:00 noon as The Doctor and I will do an updated preview show for this game focugin on Keys to Victory as well as walk through the list of last minute adjustments that occur due to injuries. we expect a lively crowd and plan to take questions from the audience in attendance in addition to those of you tuning in via the Internet. Eddie has set up special drink deals and with his patio bar, there will be plenty for room for everyone.
We are all anxious this week. Nobody is under the misguided impression that we are going to see 9 straight wins (nobody sane anyway). But wins bring with them hope. Small glimmers from investments give fans a thought that next week may be better than the first seven. Against Miami, the Bucs beleaguered defense will have to be far better than it has been this year. The Dolphins possess the ability to flat run the ball down your throat. With what has been a porous (at best) rush defense, Coach Bates better have a scheme AND some motivational tricks up his sleeve.
On the offensive side of the ball, Josh Freeman gets his second look at the NFL regular season. Josh showed some things last week that I did not expect. I hope that continues and I hope that I, and the other 75% of the folks in attendance on draft day who booed his selection) all look like idiots as he ascends to the upper echelon of NFL quarterbacks. It will take work, but his raw talent is hard to argue with. Can Coach Dumbass Olsen get Josh out of some of his bad habits and teach him how to be a complete NFL QB? Only time will tell.
Regardless of the outcome, the team will not suffer another indignity in the form of a win-less season. I know that pisses some of you off. There is a large contingent of fans that are “Mad as hell and they aren’t gonna take it anymore!” Nothing would have made this group happier than 0-16. Well, while I respect your vociferous objections to things that you feel are unacceptable, rebuilding takes time. Instantaneous rebounds are rare and almost never sustained. To rebuild a franchise takes time, patience and bumps. Every aspect of the franchise is being rebuilt. Front office included. We need to keep them on their toes. Call people out when they screw up. But please don’t lose sight of the fact that the team on the field, as long as they are putting out a high level of effort, is your team.
Support them.
This Sunday, come to Largo and support them with us!
GO BUCS!
