Media History to be made Thursday!

OK, so maybe I am overstating things. This Thursday (tomorrow, you know, 5/6/2010), your very own WTB? crew will simulcast LIVE on terrestrial radio! We have been asked to join the Thursday night show on 1010 CBS Sports as part of The Sports Explosion. This specific show, the Thursday night installment, is called the Thursday Night Takeover (TNT – Screw you Turner, we are not talking about your station!). We will be adjusting our Thursday night start time to 7:30 PM Eastern so that at 7:40, we will be patched in live to 1010 AM. After our segment on air with the TNT crew, our viewers and listeners in the area will be able to join us for another half hour (or so) of less restricted, “No holds barred” interaction right here on WhatTheBuc.net.

A great number of things have to fall correctly for this to work. You regulars are well aware of the amazing amount of technology we employ (that is sarcasm) but we are confident that we can get this to work. As for the lineup, you know the Doctor and I but we will be joining some great folks on the TNT broadcast:

Sam has always been involved with sports, ever since he played football locally in Tampa.  He then began to work closely with young athletes through various mentoring programs and helping several high school coaches in the Tampa Bay area.  In addition to being a coach for 15 years, he works with at-risk youth in order to better their situations.  He co-hosted “The Sports Explosion 3.0” and is now hosting on “The Sports Explosion TNT” on Thursdays.

Slick Rick has worked with the Lakeland Ledger for 19 years.  He has covered a wide variety of Florida sports including the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and college basketball and football.  He has covered the Stanley Cup, two Super Bowls, five National Championships for college football and one Final Four for college basketball.  He has been a beat writer for the Bucs for the last three years.  In addition, he also coaches youth football and basketball.  He can now be heard on “The Sports Explosion TNT” on Thursday nights.

Keri started as in intern with The Sports Explosion and quickly found a knack for keeping all the guys around her organized.  After interning with “The Sports Explosion” she went on to co-host “The Sports Explosion Extreme” and then took a more behind the scenes role as Director of Media Relations.  Keri is now co-hosting on “The Sports Explosion TNT” on Thursdays, and uses her quirky enthusiasm to highlight community news, interview athletes, promote charity events and recommend cool hangout spots around the USF area.

We will do our normal introduction and get things kicked off then join the esteemed panel for the “What the Buc?” segment on TNT. Our sincere hope is that you find this entertaining and it drives additional participation and, while we do not condone drinking while listening to your radio in the car, if you are at home during showtime, we encourage you to kick back, have a drink (or 3) and let us know what you think.

You can catch the Thursday Night Takeover on 1010 AM here in the Tampa Bay area of online at http://1010sportsonline.com. During our show, we will be simulcasting, so you can stay right here for that segment and after the the segment on 1010, we will still be going strong and looking forward to your feedback. We will have the email boxes open and the Chat Room revved up so bring your attitude, your voice and don’t forget the facts to back your asses up!
