Org Chart? Who needs a stinkin Org Chart?

It’s almost Sunday which means it is almost time for you folks to tune into the most random, mildly irreverent and we believe, informed Buccaneers broadcast on the airwaves. From 10 AM – 12PM on 1010 CBS Sports, your beloved What the Buc? 2 Hand  Touch Edition ROLLS ON!

We (yea, we say we here. Sorry real journalists. Fans first.) finally hired some cats. If you look at the official website for our Bucs, the staff looks very thin (not a fat joke). We know that there have been more hires. We know the team is assembling a staff. What we don’t really know if what the hell they are doing with it.

So far we know that we are going off the beaten path a little by bringing in some consultants. Butch Davis on the Defensive side of the ball provides NFL experience, deep defensive knowledge and a tremendous eye for talent. His non coaching role triggered a predictable chorus of, “cheap cheap cheap” from the flock of Seagulls around here who clamored that this was a move by the Glazers (note the spelling folks) to save money. I guess anything that makes people feel better. Davis will assist the staff, specifically Coach Schiano and new DC, Bill Sheridan but not have a direct coaching role.

To balance out the model, it was announced that Jimmy Raye would be coming aboard to help out the new OC, Mike Sullivan. Mixing age with youth, the Bucs seem to be trying to avoid the mistakes of the past (meaning the last two damn near entire coaching staffs.) I am pretty sure PJ Fleck is on the staff as WR Coach, but there has been no fanfare on that one.  We recently lured another College Coach over to coach the OLine (and apparently a good one).

Moral to the story, nobody seems to know whats up. We will be talking about the following tomorrow for the two hours that they let us rule the airwaves:

1. What are your thoughts on the current staff (and projected since according to the Bucs page, we only have two coaches)?
2. Are you concerned with the number of coaches that we were prohibited from interviewing?
3. What do you think about the number of coaches who turned us down?
4. How many Mock Drafts have you read and who do you think we are taking now?
5. Have any of the moves made so far made you more likely to go to a Bucs game?
