Tonight is the night folks. We will be digging into this first NFC South battle. Our Bucs will be welcoming the Atlanta Falcons to Raymond James Stadium at 4:15 PM. For those of you who do not have tickets, plenty are left as this game will be blacked out. For those of us going to the stadium (and the tailgate before the game), the focus will be on the rival Falcons. First division game matchup for both squads and with the results from week 1, this game carries significant import.
Last year, both matchups with the Falcons were amazingly close. The thing about games like this is that they are tests. Far and wide, people DO NOT BELIEVE the Bucs are a legitimate squad. Until the team beats good teams (or at least perceived better teams) with some level of regularity, no credit will be given (nor is it really deserved).
This week, the Falcons bring Matt Ryan and his arsenal into the fray against a defense that has played 3 crappy halves and one excellent half. Which defense will show up? This is a Bucs offense that despite talent at all skill positions seems to be unable to play a full game or find it’s hallmark playmakers with regularity. Last but not least, this is a team that has not played particularly well at home under Raheem Morris.
